Halloween | Autumn 2015

Hello Pumpkin,

As a child I never really celebrated Halloween because it wasn't something that appealed to my parents, I never went trick or treating although I did usually have an annual Halloween sleepover, which I could accept as a fair compromise! Getting older means I can celebrate Halloween how I want (which essentially means carving a pumpkin and dressing up if I go out).

Last Monday was our uni-family pumpkin carving day which was really fun! Mine's the one on the far right - with the eyebrows that you could say are "on-fleek" - haha, I apologise for that!

This year for Halloween my housemate and I will be dressing as mimes (an idea that stemmed from the black and white stripy top that I wore on the day we went looking for our costumes). It's a really easy costume to create but I think it'll be really good!
I've found loads of makeup inspiration photos for our mime makeup but I'll upload pictures of the final looks after Halloween.

Happy Halloween!

Afternoon Tea in Reading | Autumn 2015

Hi there!

So last weekend I left Bournemouth for Reading to celebrate my friend's 21st birthday. It was such a nice weekend and I'm glad she could celebrate it with her uni friends and (most of) her home friends too!

I went for two nights and she'd planned the whole weekend so on Saturday afternoon, we headed out for a very sophisticated champagne afternoon tea at Bill's - although slightly less-sophisticated me chose tea over the champagne...

I really loved visiting Reading, and I'm looking forward to the majority of my friends now turning 21 - let the celebrations commence!

Current Favourites | Autumn 2015

Hi Blogger,

I've been off my blogging game for a while now so I thought I'd do a general favourites instead of falling back into the monthly routine of it.
Having not done one of these for so long, I have been able to try out so many new things over the summer and I have lots to talk about!

#1.  Benefit Hoola Bronzer - perfect for contour! Been using this with my Real Techniques Sculpting Brush, and blending it with the RT Blush Brush.

#2.  Rimmel London Kate Moss Lipstick: Shade #38 - such a lovely colour for everyday, and even a night out. Warms the face subtly, and goes with pretty much anything!

#3.  John Frieda Beach Blonde Shampoo & Conditioner - these products smell amazing! It's like you're washing your hair in a mojito, sort of...

#4.  Netflix - self-explanatory.. Netflix has allowed me to binge watch Pretty Little Liars and Gossip Girl over summer, and I've loved it!

#5. Moving back to Bournemouth - As you may have seen in my last post, I have moved back to Bournemouth for my second year at uni and I'm having the best time living with my housemates.

#6. Nike Juvenates - I have no idea if these are 'cool' or not, but they are the most comfortable shoes I own! - Perfect for the gym or a casual day.

#7. Umberto Giannini Beauty Secrets Moisture Mask - over the summer I had my hair coloured which has added to the general abuse my hair receives from constant heat styling and general wear and tear. I'm always on the look out for a good hair mask and I picked this up on a whim, but it's so good! I'll definitely repurchase it.

#8. theBalm MaryLou-manizer - my friend bought me this for my birthday and I'm in love! A really intense but beautiful highlight.

#9. Batiste Stylist Texture Me Texturising Spray - since cutting my hair shorter, I need a lot more texture in my hair to make it look how I want..this is the one I'm currently using and it's great!

#10. Kiko Long Lasting Eyeshadow Stick: Shade #28 Bright Ivory - this product acts great as a base or on its own, lasts all day and doesn't crease. I've also heard it's a dupe for the By Terry Ombre Blackstar, for a fraction of the price!

#11. L'OrĂ©al Paris Superstar Mascara - bought on recommendation from a friend, amazing volume and length...but don't apply to bottom lashes because your eyes will get stuck together (I speak from experience here!).

What are your current favourites?

Year #2

Hello Blogger!

I'm back, after an inexcusable five months away from blogging!
I'll fill you in from the last time we spoke:

I had a very busy summer, in which I turned 20 (whaaat?!), caught up with all my friends from home, worked, and took full advantage of the fact that my parents were cooking dinner every night!
I also managed to pass my first year at uni with a 2:1 (yay!) and am currently back in Bournemouth for my second year, living with three of my course mates, who are more like family than friends to me now! I'm having such a good time, and now that my course has restarted and I have more of a routine, I thought I would get myself back into blogging. it goes!

The new cast of Friends?

Talk soon, promise!
