Where Have You Been?

Well...hi...it's been a while.

Firstly, I'd like to apologise (to my extremely avid readers, yeah right...) for my extreme lack of posts over the past couple of months.

What happened was...
I moved to university and have been extremely busy putting off work with pointless tasks and nights out, and unfortunately my blog took a hit too. But I'd like to start posting again because sometimes you just feel like rambling on about various things to people I've never met on the internet... So, let's see how it goes.

For anyone who's interested...
I moved to Bournemouth, which is about a 2 hour drive from where I live. It's a city in Dorset, which is a county along the south coast of England. I love the beaches around here, they're so much nicer than in Devon but I miss home a lot - I'm such a home bird!
I study an Advertising course at the university here, which is a lot of work - which I'm not used to after my year out - and honestly, I'm not sure that I'm enjoying it all that much.
I've met a lot of lovely people up here and I enjoy the social aspects a lot more than the work-side but I have to compromise!

This is what I get to see here...I love it

Hopefully I'll get posting more regularly from now on.

bareMinerals for Beginners

I had heard so many good things about the bareMinerals foundation, and since I've been back from my holiday I've only worn a very light coverage, I wanted to give it a go. I went to the bareMinerals stand in my local Debenhams store just to have a look at the Original foundation but ended up buying that, along with the starter kit they sell.

L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Noir Excess Mascara Review

I bought this mascara in the Spring time but vowed to myself that I wouldn't open it until I used up the majority of the numerous mascaras I had open at the time so that I didn't waste any. I had pretty much reached this point and was ready for a new mascara so opened up this one. It. is. incredible!

Orange Obsession

This makeup look is one I've been loving recently. At the moment I'm constantly drawn to orange makeup products, and an orange lip is slowly becoming my new favourite look so thought I'd post the main way that I wear one. I wore this look on my birthday night out earlier this month and I love it!

Summer Beauty Haul

Yes, this is another haul but this time it's of the beauty variety! The summertime is great time to try a load of new makeup. I've noticed that I've gone a bit orange-crazy recently too...

HUGE Mid-Summer Haul

Ever since I got back from my holiday, I had felt the urge to go shopping. I got paid at the start of my holiday and so those 2 weeks of not spending meant that I had a little bit of extra money this month so I got to it right away. Admittedly, I may have spent a lot more than I perhaps should have but...all in the name of fashion! That's a saying...right...?

The Liebster Award

Having being nominated twice now, I think it's about time I wrote this post...

I would like to thank Ellie and Rhian from TheBeautyFeature and Hyunji Kim from BeYouTyBabble for tagging me in this award - I'm so grateful for this opportunity and also really excited to answer these questions! (As Ellie and Rhian tagged me first I will be answering the questions the asked me)

YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Review

I was reading a post on Jessica's blog  where she was wearing an amazing bright orange lipstick - she had said that it was the YSL Rouge Volupté Shine and as I was browsing duty free in the airport on my way to Crete (view post here), I spotted them and snatched one up straight away.

Crete - My Summer Holiday

As you may or may not know, I just recently got back from a two week long, family holiday to Crete. I mentioned in my Travel Essentials post  that I was going to post some of the photos that I took when I was there so, as promised...

Charles Worthington Texturising Spray Review

I love my hair when it has a bit of grit and texture to it and so I'm always looking for new products that claim to do this. I had seen a lot of people raving about the Charles Worthington Volume & Bounce Texturising Spray all across the internet and didn't think too much of it until I saw there was an offer on in Boots - 3 for 2 on hair styling products so I thought I'd pick it up and give it a go...and I tell you, it is so worth it!

Straighten Up

My go-to hair for a long time now has been beachy waves - mostly because I was growing my hair out and it just didn't suit any other style - but recently my hair has reached a length where it looks a bit better in other styles. When I was younger I would wear my hair straight all the time - nowadays, I still love the straight style, but my hair would never comply and I would end up looking like I hadn't even made an effort...until now.

Gel Manicure - Update #2

*Taken Wednesday 26th June - first day of being this colour*

Oh, get me and my new summery nails! - Bright coral/red with a silver glitter on the accent nail - very nice.
I wanted a brighter colour for my holiday and think this is perfect - it should also look good with a tan (fingers crossed!).

My Travel Essentials

The time has come where I can officially say that tomorrow I get to switch off from life at home, don the comfortable clothing, and board my plane to sunny, sunny Crete for the next two weeks. I am so excited and I can't wait to enjoy the Grecian sun and to just relax. However, this does mean that a fair amount of travelling will have to be done. I like to be as prepared as I can be so that my trip is as comfortable, for me, as possible. I thought I'd share with you which basic essentials I'll be taking with me this weekend...

Gel Manicure - Update

It's been just under two weeks since I had my first gel manicure done - read the post about that here. I am very pleased with the results I've had - my nails have definitely grown and are stronger than before.

Healthy Eating?

As many people do before a summer holiday, I have been trying to get a little slimmer and more toned so that I don't look too horrendous in my bikini...

Gel Manicure

Last week I made an appointment to go and get a gel manicure. There's a professional lady who is local to me who was advertising around our town - my mum had been a few times and she is so pleased with the results that I thought I'd give it a go...

OOTD: A Shopping Day

Excuse the messy room!

I'm usually never too fussed about a casual shopping trip outfit but I was rather pleased with this one so thought I'd share it...

Nuclear

Topshop released their Sheer Lips range a while ago now and I have wanted to try one for quite some time. Every time I see a tiny bit of sun peeping through the clouds, I get the urge to go summer-shopping. I was looking for a new colour for me to wear this summer and I feel like Nuclear is just the thing I was looking for.

Healthy Flapjacks - Recipe

Whenever I'm a bit peckish and want a quick snack I always seem to go for unhealthy options (chocolate biscuits mainly!) but recently I have tried to be a little healthier - especially when it comes to snacking! These flapjacks are great because they use Agave Syrup as a sugar/Golden Syrup substitute and are also very simple to make.

Summer Haul (?)

"Haul?!" Yes, haul. Well, a written version of a typical haul found on YouTube.

At the end of June I'm going on holiday to Crete with my family so I've done a bit of holiday shopping...and a bit of non-holiday shopping but it was just after pay-day and I couldn't help myself.

I'm pretty sure everything here is from either Boots or Topshop which just so happen to be my two favourite shops...

Current Base Make-up Routine

Now that the weather has got a bit warmer - I say that, but the brief spell we did have has come and gone, yet I remain hopeful! - I have switched up my make-up to make it a little more light-weight and softer for the Spring and Summer. I'm certainly not confident enough to brave the bare face and so a bit of coverage is an essential for me.
I'm going to break it down in to 5 steps...

Where We Are Tour 2014

A late release of tickets for One Direction's Where We Are Tour around 6 weeks ago allowed me to get tickets for me and 2 of my friends to travel to Manchester to see One Direction perform live on Saturday the 31st May at the Etihad Stadium. Words cannot describe how excited I was...and it still doesn't seem real!

May Beauty Favourites!

May, for me, has been a month of new finds and some re-discoveries. The above picture shows most of the products I have written about in this post. Might as well just get on with it...

Rediscovered Jewel

About a year or so ago I was browsing the Topshop make-up stand...as usual...and I came across the shade 'Jewel'. At first I had only seen the bottom of the tube and originally planned to open it and question who would wear that odd pastel shade of orange...and then I opened it. I couldn't have been more surprised.

OOTN: Dinner With Friends

As I was headed out for a meal with my work friends, I was dressed up and I thought I might as well shoot a quick OOTN (outfit of the night).

I wanted to wear my new trousers from Boohoo which are harem style and are navy, with a white sailor-esque chain print. I paired these with a simple cream top which has a paisley pattern (that I would say is engraved into the fabric - but I will have a picture below so this is clearer). As I wanted a bit more smart and a bit less casual, I added an oversized black blazer and some monochrome cut-out flats - I think it was the perfect balance!

First Impressions: Night Owl Make-Up Kit - Real Techniques

When Nic and Sam from Pixiwoo released their Current Favourites Video and first advertised their 2 limited edition make-up palettes, I went straight to the Real Techniques website. There are two palettes: Modern Natural - a lovely neutrals palette, and Night Owl - a set of darker and more intense shades.
Retailing at $25 USD (£14.89GBP) each, the palettes are of reasonable price. Unfortunately, I could only choose one as I'm supposed to be saving money...woops

Golden

***

So tonight I went a little gold and, successively, selfie crazy... But hey, all in the name of art, right? ...Right?

The Fluro-Split

***

I first saw this skirt in a fashion magazine a few months ago and ever since I've been eyeing it up. Every trip to Topshop would result in umm's and ahh's over whether or not I should buy it. Long story short...I caved.

Rome - November 2013

At the end of last year my mum treated me to a short trip to Rome, Italy. I'm so thankful that she invited me because it was a great opportunity for me to learn about the city as well as take lots of photographs!

This post is just to share some of my favourites from our long weekend...

Current Evening Skincare Routine!

Hello you,

Skincare can be a bit of a chore, and with various different products claiming various different things, the whole thing can become rather confusing! This simple routine that I've settled into over the last few months has been really beneficial to my skin, and has improved the overall appearance of it - which is never a bad thing, if you ask me! My skin is dry/dehydrated and sensitive, but in the warmer weather can get a little oily through the T-zone area. This means that the products I use have to be able to cater for whatever my skin throws at me. I have always been quite lucky in so far as I never got many spots when growing up and that remains the same nowadays - unless I react badly to a particular product, that is. Even so, I like to keep my skincare routine fairly simple as to avoid any potential break out situations!

Top 5 Spring Make-up Picks!

Hello you,

I don't seem to have kept up with my blog very well...or even at all! Let's call this a fresh start?

Today I'm going to write about my Top 5 make-up picks that I've loved using in the ever-so-slightly warmer weather (which I guess you could call Spring?) that England's been seeing recently!
